What is the manager's check and how do you get it?

It is the payment instrument the bank issues to pay for the home. The Ley General de la Vivienda (article 70) requires the full price to be paid at signing before the notary, with a payment instrument issued by a banking institution.

To get it, the money has to be at a bank branch: the bank issues the instrument and the document evidencing that the money exists, and that document is shown to the notary.

Before handing over any money, confirm with your bank and the notary which instrument matches your transaction and how the payment will be made at signing.
